Our first night shot. Sometimes, you have to just take them as you find them. And I'm breaking the rule about "no current businesses". This was too good to pass up.
Advertisements from yester-year and ghost signs around Cincinnati: If they're not fading away, they're covered up, or the buildings they're on are torn down.

Go East
The now-closed-because-of-fire-once-famous-East End Cafe. Was it a hotel, or was it just advertising a hotel? Or am I just imagining the word "hotel"?

Central Parkway
Right behind the Cop Shop at Ezzard Charles.
Another example of not seeing something, (even when you're looking for it), until it's ready to be seen. Passed by this building thousands of times, but only noticed the signs a couple of weeks ago. I suppose it's like the Map Room scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark: The sun has to be in the right position at the right time.

Off the Beaten Path
Going along Spring Grove, there are signs a-plenty. But, between Spring Grove and I-75, there's an interesting little neighborhood, a section of Camp Washington that's part residential, part commercial, and part (mostly abandoned) industrial. And there are even more faded advertisements on the walls.
Colerain Avenue is fascinating, if nothing else, for the architecture.

Top Most
There are three signs for Paramount Vodka in Over-the-Rhine; this one on Elm, below Findlay; one near McMicken, and the third on McMicken.
There's also an ad for Paramount in Walnut Hills, but I'll save that for another day. I will tell you this much: It's not for vodka. (How's that for a tease?)

Tatum, and Leon's
While looking for the American Sign Museum, I happened to notice this, overlooking their new location. (Enhanced to increase visibility.)
Brigadoon
I call it this because it's been visible to me from Central Parkway, but that's about it. Last week, I took my bike up McMicken, thinking I could get a better shot. But, I couldn't find it. A few days later, I went again, and found some forgotten side-streets. Still no dice. So, I settled for this shot from Central Parkway. And then realized, I already have it in the collection.
Great story, huh?

This Didn't Used to Be Here
Well, naturally. Go back far enough, and the building wasn't there either. However, my point is, when I first started this blog, I deliberately walked up Main Street, to get a few signs that I knew where there. I walked past this, and never saw anything. And since it's on Main Street, I've been by it more than a few times in the last year.
However, this summer, it decided to bleed through.
Wonder how many others there are like that, waiting to fade through.

Making Up for Lost Time
Sometimes life travels fast, and days go by without a chance to update. So, here's several signs from the same building: the Progress Sign Company, Queensgate. AKA, Anchor something-or-other.
