Two For Tuesday

On West 12th, at Central Parkway.  Nothing apparent at first glance...

But at the right angle, an "O", or a "9" becomes evident.

Clay Street, just north of 13th.  Again, just clutter at first...

But, in the upper left hand corner, an "S" at the very least.
And to our eyes, it looks too tidy to be graffiti.

Heads-Up

Thanks to Mr. R. Salermo for reminding us we hadn't caught this one yet,
visible from the top deck of the parking garage at 6th and Elm.

Cincinnatians will remember Shillitos as a department store.

Gone

Hope you got to see this on a former "barn" just north of the Cincinnati Zoo, because it's gone now, covered up by a mural.

And this one is actually still there, but, new construction at 7th and Broadway has hidden it again.

Covering Covington

This specimen is in an alley between 5th and 6th, between Madison and Scott.

We sometimes find good signs in alleys, because alleys weren't always alleys, and even if they were, sometimes the tallest buildings weren't always surrounded by other tall buildings.

Plumbing the Depths

Once again we find that when we think we've canvassed all of Downtown Cincinnati and discovered all the ghost signs there are to discover, we stumble upon another one.

This is on 9th, between Race and Elm and Plum.
If it ever read anything more than just "PLUMBING", those letters are lost to history.

Mainstrasse

We took a walk along Mainstrasse in Covington, thinking we'd find a few.
Not so much.  Most of the buildings have been repainted, and any signs that
may have been in the bar district are gone.

This is on the very southern end of the street.

The signature looks like Lucas Parks, but what do you think?
