We've eyeballed this building for a while, with the hunch there was something there.

There's not much, but, it's visible now.

We're pretty sure we've featured this before, but as we were in Northside yesterday, and our previous entry was for Pepsi, we figured we show it again.

Besides, the sunshine really made this pop.

We can't tell what the product in the big box is, but it does appear to say 

"Good spread for bread."

To the far left, we see what appears to be an A and an R.

Not the Usual Fare

 

Maybe not a ghost sign, because the company is still in business, albeit known without the "suburban", and, like yesterday's entry, it's not my preferred paint job.  But, by god, look at that building!

Messy, But Proof

 

No idea what this was.  However, it indicates that this:

 

... probably was a ghost sign too at one point, as they're both on the same building.

 

And and said building is across the street from this, if you want to see for yourself.

 

 

 

 

 

Disappointed

 

By that, I mean, I'm disappointed with the number of ghost signs in Northside.  I feel like there should many more than there actually are.

 

The Spotlight Fades

 

Judging by the hit count, the media spotlight has faded, the fad is over, the bandwagoneers have moved on.  So, now we can stop pandering to the masses, and return to delivering the best faded ad art and ghost signs to the hardcore fanbase.

 

It's too bad the poseurs didn't stick around, because they would have seen these examples on the outside that most hipster of hipster bars, Mayday, in Northside.

Is they is, or is they ain't?

Spotting ghost signs isn't always easy.  Sometimes, what I think is a sign may only be discoloration.  To brighten up your Monday, here's a collection of Maybees.  Put your guesses in the comment box.

2. Over-the-Rhine.  If there wasn't a sign up there, there should have been.

 

 

3.  Downtown.  Race Street.

 

 

4. Over-the-Rhine.  To the right of the display window.

 

 

5.  Over-the-Rhine.  Just off of Main, on 14th.

 

 

6.  Omaha.  Old Market.

 

 

7.  Downtown.  5th and Plum.

 

 

8.  Walnut Hills.  Gilbert Avenue.

 

 

9. Downtown.  On Broadway.

 

Honestly, I think most of these aren't ghost signs.  I think it's just a case of I'm seeing that which I seek.

The Dullest Thing in Northside

They can't all be fabulous.

 

Furniture

Not nearly as many signs in Northside as I expected.  Either I haven't found them yet, they've been brought down, or they never existed in the first place.  This one is on the backside of a building facing Hamilton Avenue.
